Tyson

So I'd like to get everyone updated on the kids, and since yesterday was Tyson's birthday..I'll start with him!!!

Tyson just turned 9 years old on June 5th. He was pretty lucky....killler birthday party, great presents and lots of fun!

Ty amazes me. His ability to construct and build and think things thru is awesome! He can build huge lego sets with very little help and loves playing on the computer. His favorite is Mars Mission by Lego and an amusement park game where he builds the park.

He's been having a lot of fun in scouts, earning lots of awards and has made some great friends. He got a new bike for his birthday & likes playing outside a lot.

We go to the pool a lot, so he really likes swimming & hanging out there. I think some of Ty's favorite things include, slushies (with all the flavors), video games, Legos, his friends, playing & top to bottom. (top to bottom is our way of saying everyone start upstairs and work together until we get downstairs to clean the house) Ok really, he hates top to bottom if it entails "cleaner" if its just a pick up he's good though! He really helps a lot and is a great big brother.

So with that, I'll give you a few pics of Ty from the past year until recent. I hope his smile warms your heart like it warms ours.

I'm In

So, maybe you've noticed....Craig's been doing a fabulous job on this blog. I think he finally gave up on me adding anything, but now..I'm in. Just took a little looksy at a ton of other family blogs & yes, I'm feeling somewhat guilty that I haven't made a better effort to keep people (those of you that care!) updated!
So I will now make an attempt to redeem myself & get our family updated and officially blogged!!!

Oh my gosh Becky....Look at her butt

Haven't posted in a while - been very busy.  So here are a couple of tidbits to munch:

  • Got my tickets to the Paramore/No Doubt concert, though not through the channel I thought!  Darn finances got in the way of actually buying them, so I had given up hope.  Then my (now favorite) nephew called up and said that he got some sets of freebies and that we could have a couple of tickets if we wanted!!  Woo hoo!!!  I get to rock after all!!!
  • Here is a neo soul song that came out a couple of months ago that I loved!!  Gabriella Cilmi - "Sweet About Me"

  • And finally, the post that the title references.  Jean and I saw this commercial the other night and both busted up laughing.  (It's especially funny if you are a Sir Mix-a-Lot fan)

A Concert I Must Not Miss

There are very few acts that I think would be great to see live, and even fewer that I would actually get to the point of laying down some cash to see.  The problem usually is that when a band I like comes around, they usually end up touring with someone lame or as part of some "tour of a bunch of bands that you don't recognize except for this headliner".  That is what happened the last time Good Charlotte came to Salt Lake City - they were joined by Metro Station (meh) and like 3 other bands.  I was still tempted to go but didn't, then found out later that GC only played for 45 minutes or so.  Needless to say - I haven't been to a concert since Van Halen due to the increased value of the dollar in my house.

But I squealed like a girl when it was announced that Gwen was back with her mates in No Doubt, and they were going to be touring with Paramore this coming summer!!!  Finally - two of my favorites all wrapped up in one show with a very fashionable LAMB bow on top!!  I'm already saving my loose change for the show - not sure when or where it will be, but I'm planning on being there!!!

(Enjoy these tasty treats from the two bands)
